Abstract
jgViz uses standard Grid technologies and Chromium cluster graphics software to schedule the best available distributed graphics pipeline.
Annotations
The authors describe a software system to view multiple
OpenGL streams from a running grid job. The new system, jgViz (Java Grid Visualization) effectively porting an existing cluster system, Chromium, to the grid. jgViz manages the complexity of getting everything together on the grid, as well as monitoring network performance.
The system has:
- A grid-enabled server that integrates with grid resource management mechanisms like the Metacomputing Directory Service (MDS), the Grid Resource Information Service (GRIS) and the Grid Index Information System (GIIS).
- A grid-enabled client built atop Java CoG to discover grid resources and visualization resources, creating pipelines.
