Initial REU Survey

Please print the survey and fill in the information by hand. Your name is necessary to provide a consistent tracking piece of information for both this survey and future surveys.

Question Responses

For the questions, we will be using the Likert scale ranging from 1 to 7 where 1 means that you Strong Disagree with a statement and 7 means that you Strongly Agree with a statement. Roughly translated, each value approximates to:

• 1 = Strongly Disagree
• 2 = Disagree
• 3 = Weakly Disagree
• 4 = Neutral
• 5 = Weakly Agree
• 6 = Agree
• 7 = Strongly Agree
• Where applicable, you may also answer N/A (Not Applicable)

Graduate School

Using the above scale of 1-7 where 1 is Strongly Disagree and 7 is Strongly Agree, consider the following statements:

Preparation

• I intend to take a practice GRE.

Post Graduation

• I intend to apply for advanced study in graduate school centered on my undergraduate degree (comp sci, comp eng, elec engineering, etc.).
• I intend to apply for advanced study besides my undergraduate degree (MBA, law school, med school).
• I intend to only pursue full-time employment.
• I will apply to both graduate school and full-time employment and see what turns out best.
• I will only apply to graduate school.
• I intend to work for a few years and then go to graduate school in my area part-time.
• I intend to work for a few years and then go to graduate school full-time.
• I intend to work for a few years and then pursue a MBA.

Applying

If you are intending on applying to graduate school, please answer appropriately, otherwise answer N/A.

Industry Perception

• A Master's degree makes it more difficult to get hired in the jobs that I would like to pursue.

Student Perception
