At the end of the course, students will: 

1. Demonstrate knowledge of C/C++ syntax and ability to write small programs in the language, using standard facilities such as an IDE and the STL.

Direct measures: normalized scores on three laboratory assignments.

2. demonstrate knowledge of classes and ability to implement classes in solutions to small problems.

3. Demonstrate knowledge of basic data structures such as lists and trees.
