CSE 60641 - Course Project - Fall 2014 - Interim Presentation

Schedule

For the presentation schedule, see Lecture 19 (Tuesday) and Lecture 20 (Thursday). Order for the presentation was drawn randomly from the list of course project groups.

Additional details / recommendations are available in the slide deck for Lecture 18.

Guidelines

Each group will have the following allotments:

  • 2 minutes of setup / transition to the next talk
  • 10 minute talk
    • Visual cues from Prof. Striegel at 2 minutes left, 1 minute left, hard stop at 10 minutes
  • 2-3 minutes of Q&A

Several recommendations / guidelines for your talks:

  • Title slide with group members and e-mails
  • Page numbers for your slides
  • An overview slide is optional due to timing constraints
  • A description / motivation of the big picture
  • 1-2 slides talking about related work
  • What are your contributions
  • Key metrics / how you are doing it
  • At least one slide of results
  • Where you are going next

It is recommended that you aim for the following:

  • Save the talk on multiple Box folders for members of the group
  • Bring the talk via USB stick
  • If you are using your own laptop, check that you remember the appropriate cables and that the laptop can successfully display.
  • The talk renders correctly.

Submit

Submit a PDF version of your talk (and PowerPoint if you like) via Sakai. Only one submission is needed for each group.

Rubric

See attachment below for the in-class grading. An additional 10 points will also be assessed for the correct submission of the PDF via Sakai.
